The Birzeit University Ethnographic & Art Museum ( The Virtual Gallery)


The Birzeit University Ethnographic & Art Museum, also known as the BZU Museum, is a pioneering art space located at the heart of Birzeit University's campus. Established in 1997, the museum aims to promote visual arts within the Palestinian community through various exhibitions, training, and educational programs.

The museum houses a rich collection of over 2100 pieces, encompassing a diverse range of works that reflect the cultural heritage and artistic expression of the Palestinian people. The collection includes traditional Palestinian handicrafts, such as embroidery, pottery, and woodwork, as well as contemporary paintings, sculptures, and multimedia installations by Palestinian artists.

The BZU Museum serves as a dynamic platform for the exploration and celebration of Palestinian art and culture. Through its exhibitions, workshops, and educational initiatives, the museum provides opportunities for students, researchers, and the general public to engage with and appreciate the vibrant artistic landscape of Palestine. As a hub of cultural activity, the museum plays a vital role in preserving and promoting the artistic legacy of the Palestinian people.
