Strong International Interest in Palestine at ITB Berlin 2026
Berlin, Germany - March 5, 2026 - Despite the ongoing challenges in Palestine and the wider Middle East, the Palestine stand at ITB Berlin 2026 attracted significant interest from international tour operators, travel professionals, and media representatives, highlighting the continued global interest in Palestine as a destination rich in religious and cultural heritage, historic landmarks, and diverse landscapes.
The Palestinian delegation at the world’s leading travel trade exhibition included representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, members of the Palestinian private tourism sector, and WideOyster Media, the international travel media and creative agency responsible for the design and construction of the Palestine stand as well as the development of promotional materials presenting Palestine as an independent tourism destination.
Palestine’s participation was made possible through the generous support of German Federal Ministry For Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and was organized in close cooperation with the Holy Land Incoming Tour Operators Association and the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Berlin.
During the exhibition, H.E. Ambassador Laith Arafeh, Ambassador of Palestine to Germany, visited the Palestine stand where he met with representatives of GIZ, including Mrs. Angelika Straubenmüller, to discuss opportunities for future cooperation aimed at strengthening the international promotion of Palestinian tourism.
ITB Berlin, which celebrated its 60th anniversary this year, brought together nearly 6,000 exhibitors from more than 160 countries, reaffirming its position as one of the most important global meeting points for the travel and tourism industry.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities remains committed to strengthening Palestine’s presence on the global tourism stage and to working with international partners to promote meaningful and sustainable travel experiences in the country.
