Qalqilya Zoo

The Reason Behind The Name: A place that includes many types of animals.

Qalqilya Zoo

The Qalqilya Zoo was established in 1986 on the city's western side, in the Al-Malaab Street area. The park includes several types of animals, such as lions, bears, crocodiles, ostriches, snakes, monkeys, etc., and the number of animal species in it reached about 170 species. This park constitutes an outlet for the people of Qalqilya in particular, and for the people of the West Bank in general. The occupation practices led to the death of some animals in the park, such as giraffes and zebras, as the occupation forces deliberately threw tear gas canisters at the park, leading to these animals' death.
