Mosque of Sanniriya
The mosque is located in the center of the village of Sanniriya and is one of the oldest archaeological sites in the governorate, dating back to the Mamluk period in 777 AH. The mosque has two floors: the first floor dates back to the Mamluk period, and the second floor to the Ottoman period. It includes three mausoleums for Sheikh Issa Al-Suniri, the village founder, and his family members. The mosque features arches and domes, with stones engraved with the eight-pointed star and the Mamluk state emblem at the entrance.
Sheikh Issa Al-Suniri's shrine is in a small room, with an inscription at its entrance that reads: "In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Most Merciful. The renovation of this blessed mosque was commanded by the servant of God Almighty, the righteous Sheikh Zain Al-Din Omar bin the late Sheikh Issa Al-Suniri, in the month of Rabi' al-Awwal (the third month of the Islamic calendar) of the year seventy-nine and eight hundred. May God bless him, Amen."
