Khirbet al-Tira (Ruin)
Khirbet al-Tirah is located 2 km northwest of central Ramallah, at an elevation of about 800 meters above sea level, within the Al-Tira neighborhood. This archaeological site features several notable monuments, including two Byzantine-era churches from the 5th century AD, with visible mosaic floors and the remains of stone columns. The site also includes the ruins of two presses and a water-collecting pool situated to the north.
Additional evidence at the site includes the remains of residential buildings and rock-cut tombs. The settlement's history dates back to the early Roman period (63 BC to 135 AD) and continued through the late Roman period (135-325 AD). Expansion and development persisted into the Byzantine period (325-638 AD).
