Khirbet Deir Samaan
The archaeological site is located approximately 3 kilometers northeast of Deir Ballut and covers an area of around two dunums. Situated at an elevation of roughly 350 meters above sea level, the site enjoys a distinctive vantage point, offering sweeping views of the surrounding landscape and nearby archaeological features.
The excavations conducted in 1992, 1993, and 2007 revealed a substantial square-shaped building with a side length of 40 meters. The building has preserved the maximum height of its walls, reaching 3.2 m, and the building stones contain decorations and pillars. Next to the building is a pool which was used to collect water. The building is likely to be a monastery or a large farm dating back to the Byzantine period.
