Al-Malih Hotel
The hotel in question is located in the Hammamet El Malih region, approximately 13 kilometers east of the main city. The building itself dates back to the Ottoman period and was originally used as a hostel, catering to travelers and vacationers drawn to the area's renowned mineral and hot water springs.
The Al-Malih Hotel consists of two floors, standing about 9 meters in height. It is constructed of trimmed limestone, with semi-vaulted arches topping the structure. On the upper floor, there are several open balconies overlooking the surroundings.
The rear portion of the building is used as a semi-dilapidated yard area. Unfortunately, this historic structure has not undergone any significant renovations or maintenance efforts over time.
Currently, the building is occasionally utilized as temporary housing by local shepherds and their livestock, though it has fallen into a state of disrepair. The once-vibrant hotel that catered to visitors drawn to the area's natural springs now stands largely neglected, a remnant of the Ottoman era in need of restoration and preservation.
