Al-Natsheh Press

Al-Natsheh Press

The Al-Natsha Oil Press is located in the Al-Zahid area next to the Al-Natsha Medical Dispensary. Its history dates back to the Ottoman period and it was used up until 1964. The press was named after the Al-Natsha family, who owned and operated it.

The oil press was constructed with a functional architectural design, comprising two floors and spanning an area of 100 square meters. The ground floor houses the oil press itself, which consists of a crushing basin, a press, and basins for washing and pressing the olives. The second floor is made up of several rooms used for storing the oil and as accommodation for the workers.

This oil press reflects the traditional method of crushing olives, extracting the oil, and refining it, known as the 'cold press' technique for olive oil production. It represents the history and traditions of the olive oil industry in the region during the Ottoman period.
