The Shrine of Hassan the Separated and the Shrine of Aisha

The Shrine of Hassan the Separated and the Shrine of Aisha

The shrine's religious significance is highlighted by the large cemetery outside its walls, where Muslim pilgrims who passed away during the celebrations requested to be buried, recognizing the shrine's spiritual importance. Local traditions describe two notable shrines within this cemetery.

The larger shrine, situated about one kilometer west of the Prophet Musa's shrine, is dedicated to Hassan the Shepherd, who served the Prophet Musa (peace be upon him). Although historical records show he was a guardian of the shrine in the nineteenth century, local lore identifies this site as his resting place.

The second shrine, located to the southeast, is believed to be dedicated to Aisha, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). While some traditions suggest Aisha died in Syria, it is possible this shrine honors a righteous woman of the same name who lived in the area.
