Mahmoud Darwish Foundation

The Mahmoud Darwish Foundation is a Palestinian non-profit organization, established by presidential decree, that aims to preserve the cultural, literary, and intellectual heritage of Mahmoud Darwish, and to promote the cultural values he championed.

Objectives of the Mahmoud Darwish Foundation and Museum:

Collect and preserve the poet's works and heritage.
Establish and manage a multi-purpose cultural center in the area of the poet's tomb in Ramallah.
Propose, implement, and sponsor cultural, literary, artistic, humanitarian, academic, charitable, and media activities, as well as any other initiatives determined by the Board of Trustees.
Allocate an annual award for creativity in the fields of culture, literature, and the arts, granted to intellectuals from Palestine and abroad.

Mahmoud Darwish Museum

The Mahmoud Darwish Museum is located on a hill overlooking Jerusalem, with an area of approximately 9,000 square meters, in the Masyoun area, opposite the Ramallah Cultural Center. The museum includes a public garden containing the tomb of the renowned poet Mahmoud Darwish, a memorial museum, a multi-purpose hall, an outdoor theater, a park for recreation, and water bodies. The museum displays various memorabilia of the late poet, including manuscripts and private possessions. It also contains a video exhibition hall and a library housing his writings, poetry collections, and other literature-related books.
