Yabroud Village

Yabroud Village

Yabroud village is situated 11 km northeast of Ramallah, along the road that connects the governorates of Nablus and Ramallah. It rests at approximately 820 meters above sea level. The village is bordered by the town of Silwad and the villages of Ein Siniya, Ein Yabroud, and Sinjil. The name "Yabroud" is likely of Aramaic origin, consisting of two parts: "Yab," meaning high ground, and "Rod," referring to the ground that includes a flat area.

The village boasts several archaeological sites, such as the Bardawil Tower and the shrine of Sheikh Youssef, also known as the Prophet Youssef and the Sheikh Saleh Mosque. This mosque features very old columns and is believed to have been constructed from materials sourced from ancient churches and Christian buildings. There are two significant old trees in the village: the "Oak" tree, which is found in the village center, and the "Maisa" tree, located in the old town. Additionally, there is an ancient courtyard known as the "Dar Hadid" courtyard.
